In Europe manufacturers of electronic devices must be compliant with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC and must meet both emission and immunity requirements. The emissions from electronic devices must be measured and be under the limits called out in the various specifications. These vary depending on the product. “CE marking” is a process that applies to a wide variety of products and one in which manufacturers located in the EU or importers of goods into the EU must complete.
