A glass cutter is a professional tool used to cut glass to meet specific shape and size requirements.  The correct method of use is very important to ensure safety and achieve precise cuts.  The correct use of the general glass cutting machine is as follows:

1. Check the cutting wheel and head: Make sure the cutting wheel (also called the head) is sharp and not damaged or worn.  Replace the cutting wheel if necessary to ensure cutting accuracy.

2. Adjust the cutting machine settings: Adjust the cutting machine settings according to the thickness of the glass and the required cutting size. This may involve adjusting the depth or angle of the cutting wheel.

3. Prepare the countertop: Before cutting, make sure the countertop is flat to prevent the glass from moving or distorting while cutting.

4. Penetrate the cutting line: Use cutting oil or lubricant to penetrate the cutting line on the glass.  This helps in friction and makes cutting easier. 

5. Positioning and clamping the glass: Accurately position the glass on the work table, and use the clamp to clamp the glass to ensure that it remains stable during the cutting process.

6. Use a ruler or template: For cuts that require precise dimensions, use a ruler or template as a cutting reference line.

7. Start cutting: Push the cutting wheel slowly and evenly onto the glass surface along the wetted line.  Avoid moving too fast or applying too much force to avoid breaking the glass or making inaccurate cuts. 

8. Final cutting: When the cutting reaches the end, gently tap the bottom of the glass so that it breaks along the cutting line.

9. Clear the work area: After cutting, clean the work area to ensure that glass shards and other debris are removed to prevent accidental injury.
