Diamines as Chain Extenders for PU and as HT-curatives for EP M-CDEA product range is a powerful class of high quality and easy to handle polyurethane chain extenders for advanced two component polyurethane cast and spray applications where extremely high thermo mechanical, chemical and abrasion resistance are key requirements. As epoxy hardeners, they provide increased use temperatures and impact resistance as well as decreased moisture absorption. Lonza offers various product solutions in liquid, solid and pellet form tailored to meet the needs of your application and processing requirements. ? Granulated, dust free benzamine. Used as a chain extender for elastomeric polyurethanes and as a curing agent for epoxides in chemical resistant coatings. Provides very good dynamics and temperature resistance, low water absorption, and hydrolytic and light stability in polyurethanes. Offers very good chemical stability against acidic and basic reagents, high Tg (up to 230°C) and no toxicity in epoxides. Gives very good mechanical properties and low heat build up.

Application | (1) It is an outstanding chain extender for high performance cast polyurethane applications and also a curing agent for epoxides (EP). It provides improved mechanical and dynamic properties which cannot be achieved with standard formulations. It is preferably used with low TDI free polyurethane prepolymers. It provides excellent mechanical properties with low heat build-up under regular high compression loads, superior hydrolytic resistance up to temperatures of 150°C (300°F), low wear and tear, and can be processed easily with ribbon-flow technology PU formulations based on it are suitable for cast elastomers, RIM elastomers and coatings including spray coatings. In EP it is suitable for tooling, prepregs and chemical resistant coatings.
(2) It may be used as a precursor for polyimides and as an intermediate for organic synthesis. |
